Bids took a request on this one, WEEKLYVOICE #4… Enjoy!
BIDS WEEKLYVOICE – #3 One Mic/One Chance
Bids is getting intense on this one and bringing some heat. WEEKLYVOICE Week 3 is an insight on the limiting thoughts that can go through your mind, and how they can even sabotage the things you want most.
From the mouth of Bids: Groms n Young Blood
Words from Bids: This 17-year-old young blood, CC aka Lachlan Curtin-Corr is a budding DJ and boss kid. I’m sharing this dude with you because I see a lot of spark and potential in him. When I had my studio set up at the office he came to me asking to try out the Maschine. I don’t usually let just anyone touch my shit but there’s something about this kid, and it’s not one of those “he reminds me of me when I was his age”, because I was a little fuck at his age. CC is straight up, honest and doesn’t try to impress people around him, this impresses me along with his personality of being a genuinely rad boss kid.

BIDS WEEKLYVOICE – #2 The Format
Even through a stressful week Bids has just managed to squeeze in his WEEKLYVOICE with 46 min left on the clock before the new week starts. Writing what’s relevent in that moment and laying it down as quickly as possible racing for the deadline, here’s The Format…
A CROWD AROUND – #1 Another Mans Son by Kieran Christopherson
Kieran Christopherson with his first episode of A Crowd Around. Performing his song “Another Mans Son” in an alleyway in Melbourne.
Filmed and edited by Steve Young, assistant camera Meaghan Payne
BIDS WEEKLYVOICE – #1 Notorious Thugs
As a struggling artist with numerous moments of writers block and days lacking drive, accompanied with the stresses of having a shallow pocket from dedicating more time to music and less to earning, Bids will be pushing himself to write and lay down more by committing to drop a verse a week on the Electric Life spot. With so much to say and so much happening this will be his voice for the week. Verse #1 is on the Notorious Thugs beat based on Biggies verse. Let him know if you’re feeling this and he might commit to extending his WEEKLYVOICE beyond the dedicated 8 weeks.
Spud Gun Turret: Carlton Gardens
The Spud Gun Turret was recently created when Bids walked in on Zed and Fizzle in the office, amped to record a track into Garage Band on Fizzles laptop. Being a generous awesome type, Bids offered to record it into protools as his studio was temporarily set up in the front room. Zed and Fizzle jumped at the opportunity and invited Bids in on the track as it was all just for a bit of fun. They sat down with pens and paper and scribbled verses out as quick as the ink would run. Zed had never written or rapped before but managed to get some shit down then out. An energetic and hilarious recording session with a good outcome, Carlton Gardens.
Quote from Zed: ”Fuck… writing raps is actually hard”
